Our Admissions Process

We believe the admissions process should feel collaborative and transparent.

LifeWorks for Autism provides supportive, individualized programs for young adults on the autism spectrum and individuals with other learning differences. Our admissions process is designed to be clear, welcoming, and supportive for participants and families as they explore whether LifeWorks is the right fit.

We encourage open communication and thoughtful consideration to ensure each participant can benefit from our programs and community.

LifeWorks supports autistic young adults who are ready for more independence but need the right environment, encouragement, and structure to thrive. Here, participants learn by living — practicing daily skills, building friendships, navigating work, and gaining confidence in a safe and welcoming community.

Typical Steps Include

Initial Inquiry

Families or individuals begin by contacting LifeWorks to learn more about our programs, values, and expectations.

Tour LifeWorks

Schedule a tour of the LifeWorks campus to experience the apartments, classrooms, and community spaces in person. You can get a real feel for whether the environment is comfortable, supportive, and a good fit.

Application
Submission

Following the campus visit and initial interview, applicants may complete the online application and submit the following required documentation:

  • Psychological evaluation with diagnosis
  • High school and/or college transcripts
  • History and physical report
  • Applicant essay
  • Letter of recommendation

Interview with the LifeWorks Staff

After submitting the application, applicants will be invited to an interview with LifeWorks staff. This meeting provides an opportunity to ask questions and further assess program fit.

Assessment & Fit

Once your application and all supporting documentation have been received, the admissions team along with program staff, will review the information and determine acceptance. Additional documentation, screenings or interviews may be required. If accepted, the applicant will be notified and a program & service fees agreement must be signed in order to reserve the participant’s place in the upcoming enrollment period.
