LifeWorks is a dedicated supportive living and learning community that provides essential autism resources to young adults throughout Warren County, Kentucky, helping them build the skills needed for independent living and meaningful employment.
Through our personalized autism independent living services and programs, we equip participants with the tools, practice, and real-world experience to navigate adulthood with confidence. Our mission is to foster an inclusive environment on our campus at Western Kentucky University where young adults with autism can thrive, guided by their unique strengths, goals, and aspirations.

Sarah Webb - Class of 2023 - Age 28
When Sarah joined LifeWorks in 2021 she was unemployed, living at home, and struggling with anxiety and procrastination. LifeWorks connected her with a full-time job with benefits, and she is now successfully working and living on her own. She is also actively engaged as a community volunteer.
Drew Hardinson - Class of 2023 - Age 25
Drew joined LifeWorks in 2021. During a job shadow experience, Drew discovered a love for social work. Upon completing the LifeWorks Transition Academy, Drew enrolled at Western Kentucky University and is currently seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.

Lifeworks Transition Academy: How Our Autism Services Provide Structure to Young Adults
The LifeWorks Transition Academy is a structured, two-year postsecondary program designed to equip young adults on the autism spectrum with the skills needed to transition into independent living, self-direction, and employment.
Through a comprehensive approach that integrates our autism independent living services and hands-on learning, participants develop essential life skills while residing in a supportive, living-learning apartment community on the LifeWorks campus in Bowling Green.

LifeWorks Transition Academy: On-The-Go Provides Autism Resources to Increase Confidence and Foster Growth for Young Adults With Autism From Warren County.

Our autism services provide hands-on pre-vocational training and career development to help Warren County participants build job skills and gain meaningful employment.

On-The-Go participants engage in fitness activities and wellness programs designed to promote a healthy lifestyle and overall well-being.

Through daily programming, individuals with autism develop essential skills for independent living, including cooking, cleaning, and time management.

Social engagement opportunities and group activities help participants build meaningful connections and improve communication skills.

On-The-Go participants learn budgeting, saving, and responsible spending habits to support long-term financial independence.
Adaptability:
The program fosters problem-solving and flexibility, helping individuals navigate life’s changes with confidence, whether it is in Warren County or beyond.

Participants receive guidance on self-advocacy, awareness, and safety practices to navigate various environments securely.

On-The-Go participants are not enrolled in college or vocational school and do not live on-site in the Julie & Gary Ransdell Living & Learning Community.
