Exploring Autism Services at LifeWorks

LifeWorks provides a range of autism support  services designed to empower young adults and foster independence. From vocational training to social skills development, the offerings are rooted in customized evidence-based practices. The LifeWorks Transition Academy, a two-year postsecondary program, stands out as a cornerstone of our approach, helping participants build skills for self-directed lives. LifeWorks integrates real-world experiences, such as community-based training, to prepare individuals for employment and independent living. This holistic focus addresses  practical life goals.

Lifeworks recently expanded to include the On The Go program. WIth the same curriculum as the Transition Academy, On the Go is geared for those living within an hour of the Bowling Green campus, and can commute to the Monday-Friday schedule.

Participants take part in the daily programming at LifeWorks, including coursework, pre-vocational group services, fitness/health activities, volunteering, and social activities.

Each participant, both those enrolled in the Living and Learning Academy or On the Go, are working toward achieving successful outcomes in the following areas: employability, housing & transportation; health wellness, & nutrition; daily living skills; relationships; financial management; adaptability; personal safety; and social & leisure activities.

What makes LifeWorks unique is its dedication to creating an inclusive community. Through programs like the LifeWorks Employer Education Program (LEEP), we work with businesses to build autism-ready workplaces, enhancing employment opportunities for participants.
